Bigelow Tea does not use tea dust in any of our teas.

Our Tea Leaf Standards

We have long-standing relationships with our tea partners who understand we do not compromise on quality.
  • Bigelow Tea specifications clearly state we do not accept tea dust
  • While tea dust is a commercially available leaf size that other tea companies may use, Bigelow Tea will not use this tea cut size. Tea dust is used by other tea companies as it is inexpensive, quick color, and a tea bag filler.
  • We use the largest tea leaf grade available for each tea bag format to ensure optimal flavor. Bigelow tea buys larger tea leaves in order to ensure the consumer gets the necessary tea flavor notes that are required for a quality cup of tea. The tea that Bigelow Tea specifically buys from the same quality vendors for over 40 years provides the top, middle and lower tea notes that creates a well-rounded cup that the Bigelow consumer has come to expect. The larger tea leaves provide the smooth characteristics and full-bodied aroma that is the standard for the Bigelow family.
  • Our trusted tea partners from around the globe, know Bigelow Tea does not compromise on quality which means we receive their freshest harvest to ensure they meet our highest quality standards each season.
  • In order to protect the freshness of our tea leaves, we package our tea in foil to prevent moisture, light, and air from deteriorating both the flavor and quality of the cup in one of our three U.S. manufacturing facilities.
