Bigelow Tea is thrilled to announce that the Bigelow Tea Community Challenge (BTCC), our highly anticipated annual charity event, is back! With 36 years of making a difference in our community, we invite you to join us on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm rain or shine, at the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club in Southport, CT. Whether you prefer to participate in-person or virtually, this event promises to be a fun-filled gathering for a worthy cause.
Making an Impact Together
The 2023 Bigelow Tea Community Challenge is set to attract over 800 runners, walkers, and kids from Connecticut and beyond. Additionally, we welcome participants from around the world to join in the challenge virtually. Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of those in need.
Over the past 36 years, the Bigelow Tea Community Challenge has raised over $2.3 million, benefiting over 20 Bridgeport and Fairfield-based charities. These organizations provide essential services for affected communities such as shelter, food, healthcare, education, counseling, crisis management, after-school tutoring, and recreational programs.
A Message from Cindi Bigelow, President and CEO
"When I think back to the first BTCC 36 years ago, which attracted 50 participants and raised $3,000," says Cindi Bigelow, third-generation President and CEO, "I am immensely proud of how far we have come. We have raised over $2.3 million for charities in need of our support. Bigelow Tea continues to enrich the lives of so many people, a commitment that has been part of our DNA since my grandmother, Ruth Campbell Bigelow, founded the company 80 years ago. Our purpose has always been about much more than making profits; we give back and have fun doing it. I hope you can join us!"
How to Participate
You can be part of this remarkable event by signing up online for both live and virtual options. We encourage you to register early here as entry fees are reduced for the first 250 runners and walkers. Corporate teams are also welcome to join in the spirit of camaraderie and giving back.
The event, which takes place at Wakeman Boys & Girls Club on September 24 from 8:00 am to 9:00 am, offers various activities including a Kids' Fun Run and a 3k Fitness Walk, making it a fantastic family-friendly affair. And do not worry about leaving the kids when participating in the run or walk: we offer free supervised babysitting.
