That's why in 2009, we brewed up something truly special – the Tea for the Troops (TFTT) program. Created by third generation president and CEO Cindi Bigelow, on behalf of the Bigelow family and 450 dedicated employees, TFTT is our way of expressing gratitude to the brave individuals who protect our great nation. So, grab a cup of your favorite Bigelow blend, settle in, and let us share the story of our heartfelt salute to those who stand strong for the United States.
The TFTT Package
When we say we are sending a piece of home, we mean it. The TFTT package includes 100% American-made American Classic Tea, our way of reminding our troops that they are appreciated from afar. Each package also contains a note addressed to our soldiers and veterans. It reads:
A message from your friends at Bigelow. Thank you for your service. To all the fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, friends, and neighbors that have served our country, we owe you a huge thank you. This American Classic Tea is 100% grown and packaged in the United States, and the design was inspired by a good friend of Bigelow Tea, whose son served in the military. From all of us at Bigelow, please accept this tea with our gratitude for your hard work to bring peace to the world.
100% American-Grown and Packaged
Our American Classic Tea, featured in the TFTT boxes, comes from none other than the Charleston Tea Garden® in Wadmalaw Island in South Carolina. With over 320 tea plant varieties spread across its 127-acre estate, the Charleston Tea Garden® is where American-grown tea comes to life. Additionally, all TFTT boxes are manufactured in Boise, Idaho in the United States. Our commitment to supporting our troops extends beyond the tea itself – every aspect, from production to delivery, tells a story of American-grown tea, cultivated with love.
Delivering Gratitude
The TFTT program reaches our troops through various channels. Bigelow Tea employees actively participate in veteran and military events, distributing tea with gratitude. We also ship tea to military-based organizations in the U.S. and around the world. Care packages assembled by various organizations, including Bunkers in Baghdad (BIB), proudly include our American Classic Tea. On Veterans Day, our employees write postcards to active military personnel and veterans, and each postcard arrives with a box of tea. The Bigelow Tea family is not just delivering tea, for smiles, warmth, and heartfelt appreciation are included!
