The 35th Annual Bigelow Tea Community Challenge 5K Run and Walk Fundraiser Is September 25th!

Fairfield, CT September, 2022 – The 2022 Bigelow Tea Community Challenge (BTCC) fundraiser will celebrate 35 years of making a difference in the community. Join us in-person or virtually from 9:00am ET to noon on Sunday, September 25, 2022, rain or shine, at Wakeman Boys & Girls Club, Southport, CT. 

This fun filled gathering is expected to attract over 800 runners, walkers and kids from all over the greater Fairfield County area, with additional participants joining in on the fun virtually.  For those attending in person, the BTCC offers family-friendly activities, while providing an opportunity to give back to multiple local nonprofits.

 In the 35 years of the Bigelow Tea Community Challenge, over $2 million has been raised, which has been donated to the various Bridgeport/Fairfield-based charities served over the years that provide much needed shelter, food, health and educational services, counseling, crisis management services, after-school tutoring and recreational programs to deserving members of our community.  Charities supported in 2022 include the following:

 “When I think back to the first BTCC thirty-five years ago which attracted 50 participants and raised $3,000,” says third generation president and CEO Cindi Bigelow, “I am immensely proud of how far we have come, having raised over $2 million for charities in need of our support.  Bigelow Tea continues to enrich the lives of so many people, a commitment that has been part of our DNA since the company was founded by my grandmother, Ruth Campbell Bigelow, over 75 years ago.  Our purpose has always been about much more than making profits; we give back and have fun doing it.  I hope you can join us!”

Entry fees are reduced for the first 250 runners & walkers. Corporate teams are welcome. The event offers a Kids’ Scamper Run as well as a 1-mile challenge run.
