Bigelow® Bigelow®
The word is out in the Louisville and surrounding areas, "R.C. Bigelow Tea is Serious When It Comes to Green Initiatives".  With the Louisville Plant's recognition for our greening efforts and "Zero-Waste-to-Landfill" initiatives in the Kentucky's Resources Center for Environmental Sustainability's newsletter Sustained Solutions Post so too has come several inquiries from other organizations on how we did it and how we sustain it. On September 10, 2012 Green Convene a group of companies that focus on greening and the environment had its first annual Brew Ha- Ha meeting at Apocalypse Brew Works. This meeting allowed Louisville area businesses to showcase their sustained business practices towards greening and protecting the environment. Mark Adcock, Warehouse Supervisor Louisville Plant was asked to share the components of the R.C. Bigelow Tea Louisville Plant's greening initiatives and the accomplishments & rewards Bigelow Tea as an organization has gained by these efforts.  With greening and environmental protection initiatives being at the top of the Kentucky Environmental Protection Agency's and organizations like Green Convene's agenda, the push is on to promote and assist other organization throughout Kentucky to join the drive. To date these efforts have promoted 820 likes on Facebook and 500 organizations in the Louisville and surrounding areas have subscribed to the Sustained Solutions Post.   The Louisville plant has diverted 96% of its waste materials through composting and recycling since 2015.
