Classic Tea

When my mother Ruth Bigelow created “Constant Comment” tea in her kitchen in 1945, little could she ever have imagined that one day it would be America’s most popular specialty tea. Truly an American classic, it has satisfied generation after generation of tea drinkers for over 60 years. Today the Bigelow Tea Company has many wonderful flavors in tea for you to enjoy. And, most importantly, each and every tea bag is overwrapped and sealed in a stay fresh foil packet so that all the goodness is protected until you get ready to have a cup of tea.

Green Tea

Green Tea has been receiving a remarkable amount of publicity in the last few years mainly due to its health benefits. It seems that green tea has been found to contain antioxidants called polyphenols. Polyphenols neutralize free radicals in your body thus helping you stay healthier.

Green Tea, when you brew it, is very pale in color and quite delicate in flavor. Many people enjoy Green Tea just as is but others prefer Green Tea with a little added flavor. For those who want more flavor, we have a great selection to choose from including “Constant Comment” Green Tea and Earl Grey Green Tea. And, most importantly, each and every Bigelow green tea bag has been overwrapped and sealed in a stay fresh foil packet so that all the goodness stays in until you get ready to have a cup of tea.

Herb Tea

If you’re looking for caffeine free herbal teas with lots of flavor, you’ve come to the right place. We have a wonderful selection from which to choose – whether it’s raspberry, mint, chamomile, and many more. And let’s not forget our special feature. Each and every tea bag is overwrapped and sealed in a stay fresh foil packet so that all the goodness stays in until you get ready to have a cup of tea.

Loose Leaf Tea

For your everyday enjoyment are some wonderful teas in loose leaf form. We’ve got “Constant Comment”, Earl Grey and many more. Get out your teapot or infuser, and settle back to enjoy some of the most wonderful and subtle flavors imaginable. Read over the selection. Note that there are several herbal teas (no caffeine) in addition to the regular teas. If you’ve never tried loose tea before, don’t be afraid. Each package has very thorough brewing instructions. It’s really very simple to make a delicious cup of tea using loose leaf tea.

Decaffeinated Tea

We believe you shouldn’t have to sacrifice flavor in your decaffeinated tea. That’s why we worked so hard to find a decaffeinated tea that had lots of good tea flavor. Whether it’s “Constant Comment” Decaf or Earl Grey Decaf or any of our other special blends, you still get all the tea flavor just as though you were drinking regular tea. And remember each and every tea bag is overwrapped and sealed in a stay fresh foil packet so that all the goodness stays in until you get ready to have a cup of tea.

Estate Full-Leaf Teas

Introduce yourself to a new world of tea drinking pleasure and refined refreshment. Sip the rich flavor of prized black teas from India and Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon). Experience the delicate flavor of superb green teas from Japan and Oolongs from the rolling green valleys of China. These exotic full-leaf teas from the Near and Far East are produced in lush, fertile gardens using centuries-old techniques and each exhibits its own unique flavor characteristics and pleasing aromatic notes.

Before now, few people ever had the opportunity to sample fine full leaf teas this distinct and this unique. Tea connoisseurs owe it to themselves to savor this rare experience.

Fruit Flavored Iced Teas

Iced tea never tasted so good. And we have it in two different ways for you to enjoy. Some of our fruit flavored iced teas are made with premium black teas. Lots of tea flavor in these with fruit overtones like raspberry or peach. These iced teas do have some caffeine. Then we have other fruit flavored iced teas that are herbal blends. These contain no tea and are totally caffeine free. Whichever you choose, you're going to be delighted.

The History of Tea:
Tea is consumed by more health-conscious people and in greater quantity than any beverage except water. Tea is made with tea leaves from the Camillia Sinensis plant which is an evergreen related to the camellia and indigenous to Assam India and also parts of China and Japan. The lanceolate tea leaves are dark green with cream-colored fragrant blossoms. Tea flavor optimization is helped by volatile oils, its stimulating properties to caffeine and its astringency to the tannin content. The largest tea grower in the world is China. Tea requires a protected habitat in a warm climate with much rainfall in order to grow.
