Idaho Special Olympics Regional Bowling Competition by Darrel Fildes, Boise ID

On November 17^th, 2012 I had the pleasure of volunteering at the Idaho Special Olympics Regional Bowling Competition. There were close to 200 athletes competing and I was very impressed with the way the regional director, Jennifer Gardener, and her assistant were able to keep things organized and flowing smoothly. The volunteers ranged from children to retirees and the gentleman who was working with me to tabulate scores and give out the awards was a former Special Olympics athlete & coach who now volunteer his time at the various events. As Ms. Gardner told me, "Without the volunteers, none of this would be possible."
