Louisville Bigelow Plant visits a nearby LEED facility for Earth Day

On Earth Day, 2013, 4 members of the Louisville Bigelow Leadership team visited a nearby LEED certified facility nearby.  The company was Harshaw Trane who had recently received a Sliver level LEED certification on their new facility.  In honor of Earth Day, the company celebrated their achievement which included Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and several state and local government officials.  The LEED certification process involved a number of aspects of "Green" including the nature of building materials, HVAC design, sustainability programs, energy & water conservation just to name a few.  The Louisville Team is considering a project involving substantial renovation and the team used this event to start the investigatory process into LEED.  The team was able to get an up close view of a LEED certified facility while recognizing the accomplishment of one of our neighbors.  Bigelow will seek to incorporate as many LEED (Green) concepts going forward in support of our passion for respect to our environment and our world.
