Bigelow Tea Receives Healthy Workplace Award by The Fairfield Sun

To honor local employers who implement programs that care for and promote the well-being of employees, the Business Council of Fairfield County recently presented Bigelow Tea with a Platinum Healthy Workplaces Best Practices Award.

Although this is the first Platinum Award, 2013 marks the fourth time Bigelow Tea has been honored.

Through a year-round initiative that includes everything from awareness-raising Lunch & Learn sessions on various health and nutrition topics, to at-work yoga programs, Weight Watcher programs and monthly blood pressure screenings, Bigelow Tea's HR Department makes it easy for Bigelow employees to keep motivated and stay healthy.

"We take health seriously at Bigelow Tea," says Cindi Bigelow, president and chief executive officer of the family-owned company. "Awareness and prevention are such key components to everyone's well-being. Participation is voluntary, but by keeping things interesting and fun, the programs get remarkable turn out. We're delighted to provide these services to our employees. In the end we all benefit."
