How Creative Can America Recycle Day Really Be? ALOT!
Across the United States November 15th was nationally
recognized as America Recycle Day. The R.C. Bigelow Tea Louisville
Plant not only utilized this day but the whole week to promote and
spotlight R.C. Bigelow Teas greening initiatives by completing a
plant wide champagne to raise awareness amongst the Louisville
Plant employees. In order to get everyone rolling and onboard it
all started with a simple pledge:
For America Recycles Day 2013, I pledge to:
Learn. I will find out what materials are
collected for recycling in my community at
Act. Reduce my personal waste by recycling.
Within the next month, I will recycle more.
Share. In the next month, I will encourage
one family member or one friend to take the pledge.
In addition to taking the pledge the Louisville Plant employees
were provided fun facts about recycling, a matching game about
recycling, videos regarding recycling rolled on the big screen TV
in the break room and information was distributed about the
importance of recycling and R.C. Bigelow Teas commitment to
greening. So, you are probably saying "What the heck so creative
about that!" Well, best and most fun was saved for last with a
"Trash To Ornament" initiative that produced some
pretty creative Christmas tree decorations. From reindeer to
gingerbread men, the Louisville Plant employees used recycled
materials to create and come up with some pretty nifty ornaments
for our plant tree. Creative or not, the week was very educational
and something that was turned into a lot of fun!
