Saint Catherine Academy by Claudia Ardouni

Since November 2008, Bigelow Tea has been working with Saint Catherine Academy and its community based vocational training program. Saint Catherine Academy, located in Fairfield, Connecticut offers students of all faiths a path to independence through an individualized program. This program is a unique blend of academic, life and vocational skills. The program's purpose is to provide a hands-on approach and real life experiences in the workforce. The students begin with us during their fall semester in September and work Monday, Tuesday and Friday. They arrive about 9:30 a.m. and leave at noon. Currently they work at our Direct Marketing Operations center where they help us with our gift making procedures. They have learned the importance of following directions, teamwork, and healthy workplace relationships. We at Bigelow value the work that the students perform and the care and effort they put into it. We welcome their participation and are grateful that they have joined the Bigelow Tea family.
