Management Council Builds with Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County
On October 24, seven members of the
Management Council (Chris Costello, Steve Childs, Steve Ortiz,
Linda DiDomenico, Gabe Kis-Horvath, Melanie McElroy and Pat
Sorgenti) joined Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County
team members to work on a home on Kossuth Street in Bridgeport. The
house has four-bedrooms and two baths and should be completed by
the first quarter 2014. The couple who will own the home has two
children of their own and have recently added a niece and nephew to
their family. The MC members measured, cut and hammered siding into
place. It was a chilly day, but all the participants received a
warm feeling from being able to help this worthwhile organization
and deserving family.
Habitat for Humanity of Coastal
Fairfield County has been in existence for 21 years, working to
eliminate substandard housing and create homeownership
possibilities for motivated low-income families. They seeks to
build community and improve lives by partnering with low income
families in need of a place to live and with community volunteers
to build simple, safe, and affordable neighborhoods.
