Bigelow Tea has organized and managed the Bigelow Community Challenge , an annual one-day road race event that takes place each September.  This event has distributed 100% of the funds to local charities since 1988 (over $600,000 for local charities, a record $95,000 in 2010 alone) and is run 100% by company employees. Planning for the next year's event begins immediately following the race with a "Lunch and Learn" debriefing to capture ways to improve the event for the next year. The best part is that over 1,200 people participate, representing all ages. This event also acts as a springboard by introducing young children into running.

 All proceeds from the race are given to local charities in Fairfield County, Connecticut that support families and people in need including:
