no dairy in it
by jo from calera on 1/25/2018 4:05:03 PM
First off, love the tea YOU HAVE TO ADD the milk and sugar otherwise they are required by law to add anything else. The spices are amazing and to me this is better then coffee shop tea... No it doesn't taste like true chai latte but not complaining, it has become one of my favorite teas
no spice ingredients??
by CG from WICKENBURG on 1/21/2018 2:08:48 PM
A true Chai Tea, (Masala) has the following spices. Cinnamon, cardamom, clove, black pepper, nutmeg, Chinese star anise, ginger, and fennel. Bigelow won't list which, if any, spices they include in their Chai tea. One review written said they don't need to, to protect their formula. "Masala" is no secret. Bigelow does not want to list the spices? Maybe because they don't want you to know what is NOT in the tea. So why buy it, you really don't know what you are getting.
Sugar or No Sugar

Just started drinking tea, especially this type of tea. Should I put sugar or honey in the cup or drink it as is? Thank you
Vanilla Chai

This is one of may favorite tea's - started drinking tea's in place of soda's and this one is just great - I go through a box every 3 days even ordered a case to have at work.
Too Much Vanilla, Too Little Chai
by Rita from Jacksonville on 12/1/2017 10:46:57 AM
I’m not a fan of this tea. It’s either too bitter or too sweet. Often, the vanilla overpowers the chai, when I wish I could taste more spiciness, or an equal blend of spice and sweet. Just the right hint of vanilla in this spiced black tea would make all the difference, similar to perfume or salt.
Damn Good Tea
by Megan from Calgary on 11/14/2017 2:05:11 PM
By far my most favourite tea of all time! I have dabbled around with a few chai teas, but this one takes the cake. Add a touch of French Vanilla Creamer and perfection. My only issue is that I cannot find it in many store locations in Calgary, AB.
No Milk
by Nancy from Jasper on 10/30/2017 10:26:41 AM
I am not sure how anyone is coming up with the idea that this tea has milk in it. Unless they have misread under "We're proud of our recipe" that describes the tea blend. It says "a touch of milk and a little sweetener bring out the rich vanilla........" I read that and assumed it meant that if you ADD milk and sweetener to your tea after brewing that it will enhance the vanilla flavor. I'm not a regular tea drinker, but I find this blend to be good.
My favorite tea of all time!

I will never enjoy any other tea compared to this. I love this brand and the quality of tea.
Deliciously superb tea!!

by Amy from Bridgewater on 5/8/2017 2:09:31 PM
I love the Vanilla Chi Tea! It has enough caffeine so I can skip my coffee during the day and when poured over ice it's delicious. My husband and I ALWAYS have it on hand. GREAT TEA!
by Christn from Nassau on 3/24/2017 4:13:04 PM
I drink this tea everyday and I love it! I am a huge tea fan, so I've had my fair share, but I can honestly say that Bigelow Vanilla Chai is one of the best I have ever had. Would highly recommend!
Wonderful Tea!
by Rolande from Canterbury on 1/20/2017 4:17:15 PM
Since my friend introduced me to this tea, I have fallen in love with it! I find the tea delicious and I am always on the lookout at my local Wal-Mart. My husband will buy all of the boxes on the shelf, so I won't run out. I have also recommended Vanilla Chai to my friends and family! Thank-you so much for your product and the care that goes into making my favorite tea of all time!
dairy and sweetners
by sara from mobile on 1/18/2017 4:05:29 PM
This tea is AMAZING! but i am horrified at the amount of comments on here in regards to dairy and sweetners in this tea. no sugar is in this tea! no milk is in this tea. i went into the FAQ's and found this: A flavor contained in these teas, contains "butter esters", which do not contain any milk proteins, but is a fatty acid or component of fat. the tea still needs to be titled as kosher dairy people ! calm down and enjoy this tea :) thank you Bigelow!
Labeling information
by Coralene from Howell on 1/17/2017 12:36:38 PM
I enjoy this delicious tea straight. However I was appalled with comments regarding problems from dairy and sweetener in the product. They certainly are NOT listed. In this day and age of litigation and food labeling requirements, I cannot imagine a company including known allergens and not including them in the label. The only mention I see is for the customer to add dairy or sweetener to enhance the flavor. I do hope the Bigelow company will make a comment regarding the ingredients. Also, with the prompt response I've had to my question about the Vanilla Chai Tea, I would be extremely surprised if they wouldn't be willing to reply to any customer with a specific spice allergy as to the presence of absence of the offending spice. Otherwise, they are certainly within requirements to just list spices. IF every spice were listed, they would endanger the confidentiality of the formula that makes their tea special.
Has become my goto chai tea!
by Dustin from Tucson on 12/29/2016 5:09:16 PM
I am not a big fan of prepackaged teas... I usually buy fresh loose teas in bulk. That being said I have not come across a bulk vanilla chai tea, so naturally my interest was piqued, so I purchased a box, and wow! I was blown away by the taste of my loved chai with some vanilla.. so I now by about 2 boxes a month of this brand and flavor..

Disappointed in this tea. Flavor was artificial...just not good. :(

Great tea!
by Benjamin from Mansfield on 5/26/2016 8:49:47 PM
this tea is superb! I love it it has a great flavor and when you add a splash of creamer it is out of this world! thank you so much Bigelow for making such a fantastic tea I couldn't be happier!
Great Flavor!
by Rachel from Canton on 5/4/2016 11:00:40 AM
Great flavor! Love this tea!!! For all those commenting on the milk and sweetener, I believe that is a suggestion that you can add it to bring out more vanilla flavor, not that it is an actual ingredient.
by Vicki from Alamo on 4/14/2016 1:39:39 PM
I bought this tea at Walmart because they were out of my staple, Constant Comment. I shied away from Chai, after having one at a coffee shop that tasted of dog wee and the souls of politicians. I bought it grimly, and expected the worst. I was astonished, it is delicious! It is now one of my fast favourites and I purchase it regularly.

Disappointed in inadequate information on the label! Why cast doubt and threaten those with food sensitivities?
Milk was not listed as an ingredient
by Karen from Clinton Township on 2/24/2016 6:54:34 AM
When I first tried the Vanilla Chai at a Christmas Tea party, it was so good that I went to the store to buy some for my personal enjoyment at home. However, within an hour I was sick because I am lactose intolerant. This was so disappointing because I thought I had found a new tea to enjoy. I now have to give it away because I did not know it contained MILK! If it wasn't for that I would give it 5 stars.
Shame on you Bigelow
by kim from moscow on 2/12/2016 9:23:16 AM
Ingredient list does not say milk or sweetener!!! I bought this tea (a 2 for/sale, so I actually bought two!) specifically because the ingredients didn't list milk, nor a sweetener. I cannot have milk or sweetener...come to find it has both! Shame on you Bigelow...what exactly is in there for the sweetener by the way since you won't mention it? Aspartame or Saccharine?
by Linda from Baldwinsville, NY on 7/4/2015 1:43:30 PM
I bought this tea because i do like chai. However, it does not list the spices used and I have reactions to some. I did taste something off. I thought it was the artificial vanilla flavoring. Within 2 hours of drinking the tea, I was in the bathroom with stomach problems. This did teach me the lesson of do not buy when they do not list ingredients though. I am disappointed because I feel Bigelow is a very good tea company. I use a couple of their other teas all the time. I do agree that you should be listing all the ingredients used in your teas.
My favorite of all teas!
by Katherine from Clinton on 4/2/2015 10:28:58 AM
I've tried many chai teas and this product is by far is my favorite! Plain or with milk and sugar for a treat. Sadly my local stores have stopped carrying it. K-cups are too expensive for the amount of this wonderful tea I drink. I have to order online to get my fix.
Chai Tea latte
by Ginny from Euless, TX on 1/27/2015 12:12:57 AM
I was introduced to a Chai Tea Latte last fall. I was pleasantly surprised. I've been trying to duplicate it at home, but I need low carb. I experimented and finally bought Bigelow vanilla Chai tea bags, used Stevia and Nestles sugar free french vanilla. I'm ecstatic with how great it tastes!! I love this tea!!

Omg! That tea is awesome! I love it!!!!
by Lilli from Gladewater on 12/12/2014 12:19:22 PM
I absolutely love this tea--hot or cold! I hate it that it's so hard to find in the stores but when I do, I buy them out. Maybe that's why it's hard to find . . . others do this too.
by Roberts from Lebanon on 11/24/2014 11:02:51 AM
I love chai tea bought 2 boxes, and initially liked the flavor of this tea, but I am VERY lactose intolerant. I knew something tasted "off" to me, I kept feeling like someone slipped an artificial sweetener in it...I am guessing now that it's the milk. I was really disappointed that milk wasn't listed as an allergen or in the ingredients, as this caused me a great deal of discomfort! :( Correct your labeling!
One of my favorites
by Alison from Poulsbo, WA on 11/18/2014 11:41:15 PM
This is one of my favorite teas in general, and my favorite Bigelow tea. I will stash several bags in my purse and try to keep a box of it at work. Sometime, when I brew the tea at work, my co workers ask what smells so good.
Faulty Advertising
by Louise from Malden on 11/5/2014 9:17:35 AM
This tea is delicious. However, not mentioning "a touch of milk" in the ingredients is dishonest and wrong for medical reasons, for religious reasons, and for people like me who stay away from dairy products . Please immediately rectify this situation.
Terrible Stuff
by Barbara from Tyler on 10/20/2014 12:29:57 PM
My daughter purchased two boxes of this terrible concoction and the store quit carrying it so we are having a hard time finding anyone that carries it to exchange. It is not even worth 1 Star. DON'T BUY!!! Called customer service and they were not helpful and were not willing to make it good.
by Michal from Haifa, Israel on 10/27/2014 3:28:32 AM
Just visited the US and drank this tea at a friend's house. From that moment on I had to go and buy some boxes for the rest of my visit. Can't stop drink this tea. When are you going to export it to Israel???
LOVE this Tea!!!
by gina from corona on 10/21/2014 4:35:13 PM
A new favorite. Hot or cold this tea is like sipping fall. It makes me so happy.
by maddy from seattle on 8/28/2014 12:47:09 PM
I was introduced to this tea when I was at camp as staff, and they had an assortment of Bigelow teas. The chai was by far the most popular (they ran out every day). great flavor with milk and sugar.
Best tea on earth that I know of!
by Brittany from Welland on 8/31/2014 1:00:29 AM
My mother in law got me hooked on this tea. It is a little expensive at the only shop i know that carries it in store. I use to travel 70km ( an hr away) for it since its that good. The flavors and aroma are comforting, warm, and relaxing. I use it every year as a staple tea which prepares me for the fall and winter months. You just want to grab a book and cuddle up against a throw while enjoying this cup of tea. I wish it were available at Walmart, or even local grocery stores. I hope it is never discontinued AND suggest making a "Vanilla Pumpkin Chai" version!
kosher dairy- no milk in ingredients?
by Cheryl from boulder on 8/29/2014 10:55:25 AM
This tea looked great- I checked out the ingredients and no mention of dairy (I am vegan), so I bought it. I didn't notice until later the very small K with numbers and the word "dairy". How is it possible that dairy is not in the ingredients?? It is a known allergen, and in most foods there is a warning that says: contains milk. What if someone with a severe allergy drank this?
Nicely blended
by S from on 8/27/2014 3:40:39 PM
Bought this because I love Chai, but honestly wasn't expecting much (Typically these types of teas are expensive, but this was not). Was I surprised. I started to use two bags (About a 16 ounce mug), but reconsidered (One was plenty). The Chai and Vanilla are very present, but not overpowering. I will be purchasing another box soon.
Great tea and great strength
by Audrey from Wyoming on 8/23/2014 12:39:13 PM
Hello, This is really good tea blend of Vanilla and Chai and the strength is really good. This is a fantastic tea and it is my favorite in the Bigelow teas. I have given this tea a five star rating for that reason. Audrey
