Did you know that Boise, Idaho is in a desert? Receiving only 11.7 inches of precipitation per year, the Boise area is known as a high desert. If it weren't for irrigation, our valley would look like the picture nearby ... very brown. (As a comparison, Fairfield, CT receives 42.7 inches and Louisville, KY receives 45.5 inches.)
Water conservation is critical in our valley and the Boise Plant is doing its part. Years ago, we updated faucets and appliances to be water efficient. In February, we installed waterless urinals, which will save over 60,000 gallons of water per year.
The Boise region is surrounded by a high desert landscape such as this, making water conservation an obvious priority for Bigelow Tea.
