For many years now, the Boise plant has pursued environmental excellence.  We don’t do it to win awards … we do it because it’s the right thing to do and because it’s “who we are”.   But every once in a while, it’s nice to be recognized.
On October 29, 2014, Bigelow Tea’s Boise Plant was one of two organizations presented the City of Boise’s “EnviroGuard Award for Sustainable Practices”.     Mayor David Bieter said:  “The EnviroGuard Awards are a great way to spread the word that sustainable practices are not just good for the environment, they’re good business.  This year’s winners are wonderful examples for other companies looking to make their businesses more sustainable, innovative and cost-efficient.”
The Boise Plant was recognized for a full spectrum of world class environmental practices, from energy conservation to waste reduction.  The plant is a “Zero Waste to Landfill” operation.   The City of Boise’s program coordinator, Angela Deckers, proclaimed the plant to be her “poster child” for manufacturing operations.
